Hey Mama,
I am so glad you’re here! And since you are, I’m willing to bet you are either contemplating or well upon your journey into motherhood: congratulations! With all the joys and challenges, I can say without hesitation it has been the most impactful, life-changing transition and role of my life. It has created exceptional opportunities for struggle and growth, exhaustion and pure joy. It is everything to me and the reason I am so passionate about running this business today.
From pregnancy to the months and years that follow birth, a mother gives selflessly. With love, her body, mind, and spirit undergo amazing changes and endure countless sacrifices. In times past - and in many cultures still - a woman’s village surrounds and supports her through this transition into motherhood. Yet, today many of us feel we must rise to this occasion on our own.
When I had my babies, I knew caring for their needs would be intense, but the challenge of taking care of my own basic needs surprised me. I planned and nested and everything was set for my baby. I loved the idea of stocking my freezer, but even with my passion for nutrition and self-care, frankly I just didn’t have time to organize or prepare meals that would nourish me. It didn’t take long before I found myself to be one of many depleted mamas. When family and friends brought us a healthy meal it probably seemed like a little thing to them - but it was a total game changer for my husband and me. These meals revived us.
This got me questioning, why wasn’t it easier to take care of myself after having a baby? And with all the nutritional do’s and don’ts of pregnancy (not to mention morning sickness, heartburn, you name it), why wasn’t it easier to nourish myself and my growing baby? Motherhood, for me, illuminated a gaping need in our culture to nourish its mothers - this is where Mama Love was born.
My mission is to take the guesswork and stress out of meal planning, to make it easy for you to nourish yourself so you can focus on all the other wonderful elements of being a mama.
This is why I founded Mama Love: to reassemble the village by connecting and supporting women through nourishing food.
